To implement the client’s Marketing and Business Development Plans.

Manage website and internet-based marketing activity to generate business.

Support the promotion of the business organisation to key stakeholder groups: clients; prospects; business referrers; the media; partners; employees.


Marketing Strategy and Plans

Develop and execute the firm’s overall marketing strategy and business development plans.

  • Implement agreed marketing, BD and communication plans; 
  • Present regular reports to the firm’s CEO, outlining ROI, progression against the marketing plan, budget update and outstanding issues for resolution.
  • Maintain budgets for general and department marketing.

Database Marketing and Communications

  • Oversee the successful management and use of the firm’s marketing database and CRM system (or a new system).
  • Maintain the integrity of client and prospect data within the database system and set clear objectives for ongoing data management.
  • Implement the firm’s communication plan to maintain contact with clients, prospective clients and referrers.
  • Maintain consistency of message, design, and quality across all direct marketing pieces.
  • Agree content of e-shots and direct mail pieces in conjunction with FEs.

Website and Social Media Marketing

Responsible for all aspects of the firm’s corporate website and social media marketing:

  • Work with colleagues (including departmental webmasters) and external suppliers to develop content required to meet agreed website updating and SMM activity targets.
  • Utilise SEO, SEM and SMM to support lead generation and search engine visibility targets.
  • Ensure that the website is aligned with the firm’s brand and is a strong and highly differentiated presence in the legal market space.
  • Manage support from the website host to develop the website to meet the firm’s objectives.

Public Relations and Brand Marketing

Plan and implement PR strategy, ensuring that all of the firm’s internal and external communication is aligned with the brand positioning and goals.

  • Encourage fee earners to submit content for articles, releases, interviews, advertorial, interviews and case studies.
  • Follow key media to align marketing activities with key issues for the target market.
  • Support partners in their press activities and provide feedback internally on PR achievements and opportunities.


Maintain productive working relationships, including 

  • CEO and Department Managers
  • All other partners and fee earners for input and discussion.
  • Secretarial/support staff
  • Press and influential contacts (Chamber of Commerce, etc.)
  • Clients and prospective clients

Essential skills & experience:

  • Marketing experience.
  • Good IT skills including word processing and spread sheets, and competence with Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate work.
  • Organised and methodical.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work in a team, have a flexible approach and build excellent working relationships.
